What is MoonBots?

MoonBots is a hosting service for Second Life bots. We run your bot on our servers so it stays logged in, responds, and keeps working around the clock. It is built for the role-play and family community, with bot babies, greeters, models and group management bots all supported out of the box.

Do I need to keep Second Life open on my computer?

No. Your bot runs on our servers, not on your machine. You can shut your computer down completely and your bot stays online. You control it from the MoonBots website in any browser, or from our free in-world Advanced Control HUD.

How much does MoonBots cost?

There are three plans, billed weekly in Linden dollars: the Model Bot at 100 L$ per week, the RLV Bot at 150 L$ per week, and the Premium Bot at 300 L$ per week. Every plan is fully featured for what it covers - there are no paid add-ons on top.

Which bot plan should I choose?

Choose the Model Bot if you want something simple for greeting visitors or modelling. Choose the RLV Bot if you have a bot baby or role-play family - it adds RLV, outfit changes, Upsies! integration, dialog handling and the Web HUD Viewer. Choose the Premium Bot if you need group tools: group chat, instant messages, group notices and webhooks. Full plan comparison.

How do I create a MoonBots account?

Sign up on the join page using your Second Life username and a password of your choosing. We then send a verification message to you in-world through Second Life instant messages - click the link in that message to confirm the account is yours. Most people are set up and running within a minute.

How do I pay for a bot?

Two ways. You can pay in Linden dollars at the MoonBots terminal in our in-world office, or you can top up your MoonBots wallet online and pay from that. Payments go onto your bot as time, and you renew whenever you like. How funding works.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new bot baby added through the Upsies! Helper automatically receives 15 free days, so you can test the service properly before paying anything.

Can someone else help me manage my bot?

Yes. You can add managers to your account so friends, family, caregivers or store staff can log the bot in and out, restart it and adjust settings, without having your account password. You stay the owner and can remove a manager at any time. Adding managers.

Is MoonBots just for bot babies and children avatars?

No. MoonBots is general Second Life bot hosting, and the platform works the same whatever your avatar looks like. Store owners run greeters that welcome shoppers, hand out landmarks and invite people to their group. Group admins schedule notices and forward group chat straight to Discord. Venues and events keep a bot in place to answer questions. Designers use them as mannequins and vendor models. Pick the plan that matches the job and you get exactly the toolset for it.

Can my bot visit adult regions?

Not by default - bots are blocked from adult regions unless you turn that on. Each bot has its own setting in its Advanced settings panel, so you decide per bot. Region access is subject to our terms of service and to Second Life's own rules. Adult region policy.

What happens if MoonBots goes down?

We run to a 99.9% uptime target across a load-balanced, multi-server setup, and we schedule maintenance around Second Life's own rolling restarts. If we do go down, active bots are refunded the lost time automatically - you do not need to ask. You can check live status on our status page.

Can staff or business partners help run the bot?

Yes. Add managers to your account and staff can log a bot in and out, restart it and adjust settings without you ever sharing your account password. You stay the owner and can revoke a manager at any time. Managing managers.

What is Upsies! and do I need it?

Upsies! is a separate Second Life HUD made by the same team, sold on Marketplace and in the Starries in-world store. It is what gives bot babies auto-play with compatible toys and furniture, and auto-chat personality. You do not need Upsies! to use MoonBots, but MoonBots is built to integrate with it, and RLV and Premium bots include the Upsies! Auto-Chat relay at no extra cost.
